What Is In Your Hand

We are constantly amazed that people are human beings first and Christians later. That they don’t live on the same cloud as we do is down right appalling, it’s a mockery and a sham, and who knows better than the hypocrite within us. Make no mistake about it, our observation of the fruit of peoples lives will be an accurate account of the testimony of their lives but, that fruit at that time of viewing may not represent the totality of that person’s life.

We may have come upon them in a moment of weakness or a moment of doubt, or even worse, we may have found them in a moment of conforming. This is the time when the world seems right and God is silent. When decisions made in the moment, affect our present but not necessarily our future. But in the eyes of one looking down on the situation(s) a grievous sin has been committed and since God being all loving, kind, merciful, and long-suffering and a withholder of His justice, well, we tend to want to speak up for Him.

In our willingness to speak for Him and so often we do, we set the stage for some of the most piecing words Christ ever spoke:
John 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
