Proverbs 16:18

Pride

It has been said that pride is the one thing everyone can see in others but no one can see in themselves. I have found myself a victim of this saying. Amazingly enough the humbler I was attempting to be the more prideful I was becoming. I would begin by not measuring people against myself and being careful of the words I’d speak concerning others. A judge I was not going to be. But, I could (and should) examine their fruit and therein was my opportunity to speak. I would not use many words. I would try not to repeat it too many times. I was always sure to be gracious. And I would try not to speak about them in public, excuse me for a moment…. had to thank my pride for that one. I am only writing this because you need to hear it and someone needed to say it. I will only stop now because, I’ve already said too much. I’ll leave you with this quote;

"There is a very small distance between the head and the neck, and if you stare at your halo long enough, you'll reposition it into a noose" More people fail in great proportions not when their in the valley of struggles, but when their riding the crest of success.

Ravi Zacharias
