Once saved, always saved. I know someone who's living by this. The argument is this; God will not violate his covenant promise that, whoever believes that Jesus is the Son of God. That Jesus died, was buried, and rose again on third day will be saved throughout all eternity. The main problem I have with this thinking is there's no need for sanctification, no need for true spiritual growth (regeneration). How then do you know if you’re growing in the faith or not? Or does it really matter? For one who says; once save always saved I think not. But for the Christian determined to grow in faith, and knowledge of God, spiritual gifts, and in the handling of God's word in preaching and teaching, we must put ourselves to the sanctification process. Yes we are justified by Faith alone, but we must not fall into the deception that we are now ok and can continue to live in the way we were before we accepted the atonement for our sins. Listen to what Jesus prayed;
John 17:17 sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
John 17:19 and for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
